Harder Workbench
This modification transforms the early game into a true survival test by fundamentally altering the mechanics of the initial gameplay phase.
Crafting Changes in Early Game
Standard Crafting Table now features a completely different recipe, forcing players to either search for villages to borrow a workbench from there or utilize an alternative option.
Crude Workbench - a temporary substitute crafted from sticks and other basic materials. It functions similarly to a standard crafting table but has limited durability - after 21 uses it breaks, compelling players to eventually find a permanent solution.
Furnace recipe has undergone certain changes, though not as drastic, but may still pose some difficulty for beginners.
Chests are no longer crafted from regular planks. Their creation requires a special workbench, complicating storage organization in the early game.
Stone mining now yields Small Rocks instead of cobblestone, requiring additional steps to obtain standard building materials.
New Items and Tools
The mod introduces several new components: Nails, Screws, Hinges, Boards, and Glue, as well as a set of hand tools - Saw, Hammer, Screwdriver, Scissors, and Hand Drill. These items become essential when working with the Universal Workbench.
Advantages and Compatibility
Recipes for the Universal Workbench are implemented through datapacks, ensuring configuration flexibility. The mod perfectly complements other hardcore modifications.
Thanks to JEI integration, all new recipes are easily accessible for in-game study.
