Hardmode Progression - Extended Material Tiers
Hardmode Progression is a straightforward modification that introduces additional challenge to Minecraft's standard gameplay loop without creating excessive monotony or frustration.
While netherite equipment remains unchanged, all other standard gear types have been slightly weakened to balance the introduction of three new material tiers: copper, cupronium, and anoxite.

Additionally, successful harvesting and fast mining of certain block types now require tools of corresponding levels. All deepslate-level blocks require at least cupronium tools for harvesting, while all Nether blocks require diamond tools.
Brief hierarchy of new material tiers:
Wood => Stone => Copper => Iron => Cupronium => Diamond => Anoxite => Netherite
Or for armor: Leather => Copper => Iron/Chainmail... etc.
The core design principle of the mod is creating a utility hierarchy between materials.
- Wooden and stone tools remain unchanged in technological progression
- Copper tools can now be crafted, requiring copper ingots
- Copper tools enable iron harvesting
- Iron tools enable nickel harvesting — a new ore type that can be used to create cupronium, which is a combination of copper, iron, and nickel ingots
- Cupronium tools enable diamond harvesting, which can be combined with cupronium ingots to create diamond ingots, now used for crafting diamond tools
- Diamond tools enable Nether material harvesting, which can be used to create anoxite ingots
- Anoxite tools enable ancient debris harvesting, which can be combined with anoxite tools to create netherite tools
- This means that except for stone, all tool tiers depend on previous materials, encouraging players to continue collecting resources that would otherwise become irrelevant in later game stages

This modification is compatible with Hardmode Mining - Rarer Ores.
