Hearty Meals
This compact but impactful mod fundamentally changes the food system in Minecraft, replacing the traditional hunger bar with direct health restoration through food consumption.
Core Features
Instead of the standard hunger mechanics, food now directly restores your health. The amount of health recovered depends on the original nutritional value of the item, while the healing speed is determined by the saturation modifier. You cannot eat additional food while currently healing.
All food items are equipped with tooltips that display the amount of health restored over time. When holding food (or during the healing process), an overlay appears on the health bar showing the expected health gain.
The armor bar has been repositioned to where the hunger bar used to be for a more convenient interface.
Special Mechanics
Campfires create a cozy atmosphere - when nearby, you receive the "Cozy" effect, which gradually restores health over time. Liquid consumables such as honey, stews, milk, and potions are consumed twice as fast. Honey has a significantly increased saturation modifier.
Potions can now be stacked in bundles for convenient storage and use.
Status Effects
The "Hunger" effect prevents health restoration through food and deals periodic damage at higher levels. The "Saturation" effect instantly restores health based on the amplifier strength.
With Farmer's Delight installed, the "Nourishment" effect slowly restores health every 10 seconds.
Additional Settings
The mod offers optional features: disabling sprinting, instant regeneration, and quick consumption, which are disabled by default to maintain gameplay balance.
