Heavy Truck Pack- FVTM Addon
Important Note: This pack is no longer supported and does not work with the current version of FVTM. It has been replaced by my "GM Truck Pack". Updates for this pack are no longer planned.
Addon Overview
Heavy Truck Pack is an addon for the Fex's Vehicle and Transportation mod that adds four brands of pickup trucks to Minecraft, totaling 11 different models. The package also includes a gooseneck flatbed trailer.
Customization Features
Various components can be added to vehicles: hitches, toolboxes, lumber racks, protective grilles, and towing mud flaps. Bodies, trailers, racks, and toolboxes are equipped with storage slots for tools or materials.
Each truck features glowing headlights, tail lights, running lights, turn signals, and reverse lights. The primary color of each vehicle can be changed to any RGB shade for complete customization.
Available Models
Chevrolet Silverado 2017 2500HD and 3500HD
The first models I created, equipped with Duramax diesel engines and the iconic gold bowtie emblem.
Chevrolet Silverado 2020 2500HD and 3500HD
Although many are not fans of the appearance of these models, I personally like them to some extent.
GMC Sierra 2017 2500HD and 3500HD
These trucks are mechanically identical to their Silverado counterparts but feature a distinct set of headlights and grille.
Ram 2017 2500 and 3500
The Ram truck line features the iconic cross in the grille and rugged appearance, equipped with Cummins turbo-diesel engines. Towing mirrors are extended, of course.
Ford F-250 and F-350 2018
The Super Duty line is not one I personally favor, but they are iconic American trucks.
Chevrolet 5500 2020
The medium-duty Chevy Kodiak line was revived in 2019 with the Chevy Silverado 5500 chassis cab. Currently, three body types are available for this rig: dump body, dump body with toolbox, and stake body.
Big Tex Gooseneck Flatbed
Commonly used for hauling machinery, hay, and other goods, this flatbed attaches to a hitch in the pickup truck bed for serious transportation.
FVTM Basics
Road Construction
FVTM features an excellent sloped and curved road generator that creates slopes with 16 different asphalt levels. Width is determined by stacking road creation tools (a stack of 5 creates a 5-block wide road).
Constructor and Lift
The constructor and lift are used to modify and paint vehicles in any FVTM addons. To modify a vehicle, right-click on the constructor while holding the vehicle.
Vehicle Management
Vehicles in FVTM are part-based, allowing for extensive customization and modification. They also have functions or "programs". These include lights, and for other packs, animations or tools.
All vehicle programs are accessible by pressing "k" in the driver's seat. Default programs include lights, high beams, fog lights, turn signals, and hazard lights. HTP trucks currently only have lights, turn signals, and hazard lights implemented.
Glowing brake and reverse lights.
Turn signal functionality.
Towing and Hitches
To tow a trailer, you need to install a hitch (gooseneck hitch for HTP) in the "rear_connector" slot. If you right-click the constructor with a hitch, this option should appear automatically.
Control System
FVTM's driving system is significantly different from most. The "W" and "S" keys increase and decrease throttle respectively. The throttle will remain at its current position until another key is pressed to change it. Turning is very similar to turning a real vehicle - it takes some getting used to. Turning is also not instantaneous. To start/stop the engine, press "ctrl".
