Hex Lands

The Hex Lands mod completely transforms Minecraft's standard world generation, turning the landscape into a system of hexagonal tiles reminiscent of a board strategy game. Each hexagon contains one specific biome, with identical biomes merging into large territories. To create a world with this structure, you need to select the "Hex Lands" world type when creating a new world.

Main Features

The mod offers extensive customization options: you can change hexagon sizes, terrain height, select blocks for zone border decoration, and much more. Meanwhile, all standard world features - villages, caves, canyons, lakes - generate normally. The mod is compatible with additional biomes from other modifications such as Traverse and Defiled Lands.

Is the mod compatible with modified biomes and other world generation mods? Yes, fully compatible.

Does it work with Biomes O' Plenty? Yes, with Biomes O' Plenty installed, select the "BoP Hex Lands" world type.

Can border blocks between zones be changed or removed? Yes, in the settings change the parameter S:rimBlock=minecraft:stonebrick to the desired block or set S:rimBlock=minecraft:air to completely remove borders.

Can borders extend down to bedrock? Yes, set the parameter B:borderToBedrock=true.

Does the mod work on servers only? Yes, specify the level-type parameter in the server.properties file as hexlands or bophex for regular worlds or worlds with Biomes O' Plenty.

Does the mod change the Nether and End? The End remains unchanged. Starting from version 1.5, you can enable hexagonal generation for the Nether by setting the parameter B:useNetherHexGen=true. This feature is compatible only with Nether biomes from Biomes O' Plenty.

Does the mod affect ore generation? No, mineral generation remains standard.
