Hex Research
Status: Abandoned
This is an addon to the Hex Casting modification that offers alternative ways to complete the progression in the spellcasting system. The main concept is that for achieving any goal, there should be both a laborious but safe path and a faster option for those willing to use non-player characters for their purposes.

New Spells
Thought Sieve
Determines the correct gesture sequence for great spells by filtering possible options through the consciousness of a villager. May have negative effects on the villager.
Imbue Mind (Great)
Endows a block with consciousness created by a cognitive inducer. Follows the recipes of the mind flaying spell.
New Block
Cognitive Inducer
Creates an artificial mind through induction from nearby villagers. Used by the new imbue mind spell.
Troubleshooting
- Can't find scrolls or sift for imbue mind spell!
- Adding a great spell to an existing world doesn't automatically generate world-specific patterns
- As an operator or through server console, execute the command
/hexcasting recalcPatterns
