Historicized Medicine
The Historicized Medicine modification immerses players into the world of historical medicine, adding realistic medical effects, tools, and a knowledge system to Minecraft based on real historical practices.
Mod Features
Knowledge System - create knowledge sheets that are filled by using medical tools. When a sheet is completely filled, it can be used on the medical crafting table to unlock new medical tools and items of the next level.
New Villagers - two types of village residents appear: Apothecarian and Plague Doctor, who can provide unique medical services and goods.
Rats - cute but dangerous rodents that can carry the plague. Be careful when encountering them!
Historical Medical Tools - a collection of items from different eras of medical history, including Medicinal Clay, Trephine, Honey Poultice, Tile Cautery, and Nitrous Oxide.
Prayer Statues - special statues that can be placed in your home. When interacting with them, the player receives positive effects. Note: statues cannot be collected after placement, and there is a universal cooldown for each player.
Medical Effects
The mod adds four realistic medical conditions:
- Bleeding - gradually reduces health by a total of (5 * effect level) hearts over the effect duration
- Infection - blocks the natural health regeneration process
- Pain - causes slowness and weakness
- Plague (also known as "The Block Death") - a contagious disease. If infected, you will spread the disease to nearby creatures, who will die after 5 minutes. Cured with a potion made from materials obtained from Plague Doctor and Apothecarian villagers.
Compatibility
The mod supports integration with The One Probe for viewing block information and with JEI for displaying medical crafting table recipes. Also includes ore dictionary compatibility for recipes and numerous configuration options for modpack creators.
