Hold Your Enemies Closer

This modification introduces a series of enchantments that are opposite in nature and incompatible with standard ones. The main goal is to enhance the variability of the enchanting system and experiment with mechanics introduced in version 1.21+.

Like original enchantments, all new effects can be configured via datapacks.

Available Enchantments

Attraction — enchanted on swords, pulls struck enemies toward the attacker (opposite effect of knockback). Obtainable through enchanting table, loot, or trading. Compatible up to level 2. Incompatible with Knockback.

Auto-Smelt — applied to tools, automatically smelts harvested blocks. A treasure found in bastions. Compatible up to level 2. Incompatible with Fortune and Silk Touch.

Curse of Frailty — works on any durability items, increases wear by 1 unit per level. A treasure or obtainable through trading. Compatible up to level 3. Incompatible with Unbreaking.

Frost — enchanted on bows, applies freezing effect (similar to snow block) to struck entities. Effect stacks unlike Flame. Obtainable through enchanting table, loot, or trading. Compatible up to level 1. Incompatible with Flame.

Frost Protection — applied to armor, reduces freezing damage and duration. At 50% freezing time or less, allows walking on snow blocks. Obtainable through enchanting table, loot, or trading. Compatible up to level 1. Incompatible with Frost Walker.

Pull — enchanted on bows, pulls entities in the opposite direction of arrow velocity. Obtainable through enchanting table, loot, or trading. Compatible up to level 2. Incompatible with Punch.

Ice Aspect — applied to swords, applies freezing effect to struck entities. Effect stacks unlike Fire Aspect. Obtainable through enchanting table, loot, or trading. Compatible up to level 2. Incompatible with Fire Aspect.

Swift Swim — enchanted on leggings, increases movement speed in liquids. A treasure found in shipwrecks or buried treasure. Compatible up to level 3. Incompatible with Swift Sneak.

Additional Information

To implement reverse knockback, the mod allows living entities to receive "negative rebound". Such situations are absent in the original game, but code checks for positive values may cause side effects, though unlikely.

Auto-smelt logic uses the built-in tag minecraft:smelts_loot, enabling Fire Aspect to also smelt harvested blocks.

Freezing walk functionality now allows walking on snow blocks.

Version 1.21.3 will not receive updates.
