Hunger Overhaul

Compatibility and Features

This modification works excellently with HarvestCraft, WeeeFlowers and Natura, significantly expanding their functionality. The main goal of this project is to transform the hunger system from a simple inconvenience into a genuine game mechanic that requires strategic survival planning.

Key Changes to the Food System

The hunger restoration system has been completely reworked. Raw foods now restore only half a hunger unit, cooked foods restore one full unit. Light meals like soups provide approximately 2 units, standard meals provide 3-4 units, and hearty feasts provide about 5 saturation units.

Useful Tips and Interface

All food items now display tooltips with information about nutritional value and saturation. When health or hunger levels are low, colored warnings appear in the upper corners of the screen, helping players react to dangerous situations in time.

Benefits of Proper Nutrition

Eating food now grants the "Well Fed" effect, which speeds up health regeneration by 33%. The effect duration depends on the nutritional value of the consumed food: light snack - 40 seconds, full meal - 2 minutes, large portion - 4 minutes, and a true feast - a full 8 minutes. Effects stack when consuming food sequentially.

Agricultural Changes

Farming has become more realistic and demanding. Crops can now be harvested by right-clicking on mature plants without needing to replant. However, crop growth only occurs during daylight without artificial lighting and takes significantly longer. Plants only yield the planted seeds without additional bonuses.

Animal and Tool Balancing

Animals now reproduce and produce resources much less frequently - all timers are increased by 4 times. Hoes have gained new functions: when used on grass without nearby water, they turn it into dirt with a chance of creating a random seed. Hoe durability is reduced to 1/5 of standard, and recipes for wooden and stone hoes have been removed.

Game Difficulty Influence

Difficulty level now significantly affects gameplay. Bone meal on normal difficulty provides less effect, and on hard difficulty - doesn't work at all. Hunger depletion rate and health regeneration speed also depend on the chosen difficulty.

Customizability and Integration

Almost all modification features can be configured through configuration files. With HarvestCraft installed, village integration appears - farmers buy crops, and butchers sell quality food. High-quality dishes can also be found in chests of various structures.

Additional Mechanics

Low health and hunger now cause negative effects: slowness, weakness, and reduced resource gathering speed. When completely exhausted, the player dies instantly, but the last hunger units deplete more slowly, providing reaction time.
