I Wanna Skate - Skateboarding in Minecraft

Add extreme skateboarding to your Minecraft world with the I Wanna Skate modification! Create your own skateboards, perform tricks, find cool equipment, and encounter new mobs passionate about skating.

To begin, you'll need to assemble your first skateboard. The deck is crafted from any wooden planks (including wood types from other mods!), trucks are made from iron, and wheels are obtained by defeating Skater Skeletons - new hostile creatures. These materials can also be used to create the "Skating for Beginners" guide.

Crafting Recipes

Skater Skeletons spawn only on surfaces suitable for skating, such as stone or concrete. Instead of bows, they're armed with powerful skateboards which they use to attack players. When defeated, they drop skateboard wheels, helmets, and occasionally their own boards. During certain times of the year, you can obtain holiday-themed wheels.

Skater Skeletons

After creating your skateboard, it's important to choose suitable surfaces for riding. Skateboards perform poorly on dirt, grass, sand, and other natural blocks - it's better to use stone and concrete surfaces. Details about the skating mechanics are described in the guide. To mount the skateboard, simply click on it.

Controlling a skateboard differs from horseback riding. Holding the forward key initiates acceleration, filling the inertia bar. When the bar is full, you can stop accelerating until significant speed loss occurs. The backward key performs a quick stop and lifts the front of the board. During movement, use left-right keys for turns. Don't forget to wear a helmet - otherwise you can take damage from colliding with walls or falling from heights.

The large bar replacing the experience bar works similarly to a horse's jump bar. Filling it halfway performs an ollie, while nearly full filling executes a kickflip. You can grind on rails, walls, fences, and iron bars. The Energy Drink activates slow motion when performing tricks - just be careful not to overdo the caffeine! More tricks are planned for the future.

Every skateboard is unique thanks to extensive customization. Dozens of wheel color variants are available, including special ones with particles and effects. Combining the board with a wool carpet changes the grip tape color, while with a banner adds a pattern to the bottom. Combinations of these options create endless design possibilities, not counting enchantments.

Over 10 unique enchantments are available for skateboards, compatible with regular improvements like Unbreaking:

Skateboard Enchantments - Aerial I-IV: Increases air time during ollies and kickflips - Bashing I-IV: Increases melee damage with skateboards and adds contact damage while skating - Benthic: Allows skateboard use underwater, incompatible with Surfing - Clambering: Automatic overcoming of one-block obstacles - Earthcrosser: Free movement over dirt, grass, and other natural blocks - Hardwood: Protection from natural damage sources (fire, cacti) - Inertial I-III: Slows inertia loss while skating - Instant Return: Board automatically returns to inventory when dismounting - Onboarding: Mobs stepping on the board start skating - Pedalling I-II: Faster speed buildup - Secured: Reduced fall damage and prevention of falling off the board - Sidewinder I-II: Faster left-right turning - Surfing: Gliding over water as if solid surface, incompatible with Benthic

Most standard mobs are animated when using the Onboarding enchantment. Built-in support for Alex's Mobs and Cloud Storage mobs is included. Many other mods with humanoid mobs also work correctly.

The enchantment glow can be removed by combining the skateboard with Shimmering Wax.

The Wandering Skater is a village simpleton who left his homeland to travel the world on a skateboard. He trades skating equipment and appears nearby every few days. He's the only source for most special wheels with unique effects. Unlike regular villagers, he can defend himself by attacking with his skateboard. If you gift him Emerald Wheels, he might stick around longer. His inventory also includes dyeable headwear, placeable pizza slices, enchanted books, energy drinks, and more.

The modification includes plenty of additional content with future plans:

Planned Features - Skatepark structure - Skaters in regular villages - Skater pillagers - Additional tricks - Trick combination system - New advancements - Additional enchantments - More special wheels - Half-pipe blocks - And much secret content...

Enjoy the modification and happy skating!
