Immersive Cavegen
About the Modification
This mod fundamentally transforms Minecraft's underground world, significantly improving the generation of caves, caverns, mineshafts, and other subterranean features. It creates more diverse and expansive underground spaces, making subterranean exploration truly exciting.
Key Features
The mod adds extended cave systems with various types of underground formations. You'll encounter enormous caves, interconnected cavern complexes, underground water bodies, and even entire subterranean oceans (the latter by default generate only under deep oceans, but this is configurable).
The underground world comes alive with diverse stalactites, stalagmites, cave plants, huge glowing mushrooms, vines, cobwebs, and even randomly encountered skulls. Mineshaft systems become more extensive and complex, while sand generation is significantly improved.
Configuration and Compatibility
Important note: by default, huge epic caves are not that common. Don't hesitate to adjust the configuration file to make them more frequent. Every feature of the mod is fully configurable through the configuration file, including cave and cavern frequency, large cave spawn chance, cave width, filled cave level, and much more.
If conflicts occur with other mods, try disabling the "Enable World Population Changes" and "Separate Flooded Y Level" parameters in the configuration file. The underground water bodies feature may conflict with mods that add custom world types, such as Realistic Terrain Generator and Highlands.
Additional Features
The mod also adds special underground mobs (currently only 2 types), whose spawn rates can be configured. If you plan to create truly enormous caves, it's recommended to use Biome Height Tweaker to increase their generation height.
Technical Details
Part of the mod's code is taken from the excellent The Master Caver's Underground modification with appropriate permissions.
