Core Combat Overhaul

This modification represents a reworked version of Better Combat for Minecraft 1.12.x with multiple improvements to the melee combat system.

The visual aspect has been enhanced with detailed first-person attack animations, including sweeping, chopping, and stabbing motions. Weapons in the character's hands now naturally sway with breathing movement, and their positioning adapts to surrounding objects and mobs. Camera slightly tilts during swings, intensifying combat immersion.

The game interface received a new attack cooldown display system through the crosshair. A sophisticated critical damage system has been implemented with random chance for additional damage.

The configuration system enables fine-tuning of weapon characteristics: sound selection, animations, handling properties, sweep range, knockback, critical chance, and applied effects. A "Shield Bash" ability has been added with adjustable damage, knockback, and cooldown. Bows also received expanded parameters for damage customization, arrow velocity, and draw speed.

Dual-wielding is now possible - attacking is allowed with both hands. All attacks feature a cooldown period and slight delay before hit registration. Swords received individual settings for recovery time between strikes.

The new system allows separate adjustment of horizontal and vertical knockback, disabling enemy shields for specific durations through special attacks, and reducing effectiveness of unarmed attacks. Unique enchantments were added: Curse of Gluttony, Webbing, Revitalize, Sorcery, and Lightning. New potions include Aetherealized, Precision, Brutality, and a Bleeding effect.

Quality Gameplay Enhancements

Shields now block fire from projectiles. Healing arrows deal no physical damage if they successfully healed the target. Silver weapons from other mods deal bonus damage to undead creatures. Tipped arrows with damage and healing potions calculate damage correctly according to Minecraft's game mechanics.

Mobs are now affected by Blindness and Nausea status effects. Added a quick-equip hotkey for weapons (default: X), numerous combat sounds for various weapon usage situations. Each weapon type can feature unique sound effects based on material and animation type.

Weapon tooltips display extended information about attack range, knockback, critical chance and damage, and additional effects. Animations and particles have been added for creating grass paths with shovels, tilling farmland, and stripping bark from logs. Fixed compatibility issues with Spartan Weaponry and Quality Tools mods.

Compatibility

The mod is compatible with Spartan Weaponry and Quality Tools. For third-person animation changes, Mo' Bends installation is recommended. Attack speed and base damage customization is available through Material Changer.
