Improved Spiders
New Spider Types
This datapack/mod introduces four varieties of spiders that can spawn in the world, as well as a boss - the Spider Queen, who resides in special spider dens. Additionally, many new items have been added.
In creative mode, you can obtain all special spider spawn eggs by entering the command: /function improved_spiders:give_spawn_eggs
All unique items are available in creative mode via the command: /function improved_spiders:give_items
To locate a spider den in creative mode, use: /locate structure improved_spiders:spider_den
Ceiling Spiders
Regular spiders and cave spiders climbing walls under ceilings now visually cling to the surface above them.
Spider Varieties
Four new spider types can replace regular spiders and cave spiders during spawning, with two of them having unique drops.
Spider Types
- Weaver Spider: Throws spider web at the player, creating cobwebs where it hits - Venomous Spider: Shoots spider venom, creating a poison cloud upon impact - Egg Carrier Spider: Carries a spider egg on its back that hatches baby spiders upon its death - Healer Spider: Heals all nearby spiders every few seconds - Warrior Spider: Makes a powerful leap toward the player from a distance and has enhanced stats
Spider Den
Spider dens spawn in all forest-like biomes. They contain cobwebs, spiders, and between 3 to 8 inactive healer spider spawners, as well as a giant spider egg at the top. Dens can be easily found using a spider den explorer map, which drops from warrior spiders or may be found in abandoned mineshaft chests.

- Forest - Birch Forest - Old Growth Birch Forest - Dark Oak Forest - Pale Garden - Old Growth Pine Taiga - Old Growth Spruce Taiga
Spider Queen Boss
After discovering a spider den and approaching the giant spider egg at the top, the Spider Queen will appear along with a health bar and begin attacking the player with various methods:
- Throws an egg that spawns 4 spiders
- Leaps into the air and crashes to the ground, dealing damage to all nearby players
Additionally, healer spider spawners activate and begin spawning waves of spiders until destroyed.
After health is reduced by half, the Queen summons two warrior spiders and increases her power, boosting the frequency of egg throws and smash attacks, and speeding up remaining spawners.
The Spider Queen cannot be damaged by projectiles fired from more than 32 blocks away.
Upon defeat, she drops 2 new items.

- Spider Web: Drops from weaver spiders, can be thrown and creates cobwebs upon impact - Spider Venom: Drops from venomous spiders, when thrown creates a poison cloud upon hitting something - Healer Spider Gland: Drops from healer spiders, used to restore several hearts and cure poison and nausea - Spider Egg: Drops from the Spider Queen, when thrown spawns 5 spiders that attack the nearest hostile mob upon appearing - Arachnoid Crown: Drops from the Spider Queen, can be worn; when equipped, any mob attacking the player gets trapped in cobwebs - Spider Den Explorer Map: Drops from warrior spiders, helps the player locate a spider den
