Inferno - Hardcore
Developer's Note: This modification introduces substantial changes to the standard survival mode to create a more challenging and intense gaming experience. It was specifically designed for use with the extensive Inferno modpack but can also function as a standalone modification.
Main Features of the Mod
- Anti-instant death system - your character cannot be killed by a single hit when at full health (except for falls from critical height)
- Enhanced weather phenomena - thunderstorms have become significantly more dangerous, with lightning strikes sharply increasing, making the crafting of lightning rods highly recommended
- Improved hostile mobs - all hostile creatures spawn with random potion effects, making each encounter unpredictable
- Zombie behavior specifics - absolutely every zombie spawns in miniature form
Changes to Game Mechanics
- Saturation system - the effectiveness of saturation is significantly reduced
- Hunger consumption - the hunger meter depletes much more rapidly
- Starvation consequences - the negative effects of food deprivation have become considerably more severe
Key Restrictions and Penalties
- End dimension access - to gain the ability to travel to the End, you must first defeat the Wither (can be disabled in settings)
- Interaction with villagers - every successful trade with a villager ends with them being struck by lightning (optional feature)
- Burning system - burning does not stop on its own until the character enters water
- Totems of Undying - each used totem irreversibly reduces maximum health by 2 hearts, and they don't activate when health is below half maximum (configurable)
Additional Changes
- Piglins - most regular piglins are replaced by their enhanced versions
- Weather influence - various weather conditions directly affect the appearance of specific types of mobs
