Ingstorm
This mod introduces a persistent damage system to Minecraft, inspired by Metroid Prime 2. Damage is applied automatically and can be fully customized to your preferences.
Damage Types
There are two main types of persistent damage:
Biome Damage - continuously applied while you are in specific biomes. By default, it activates in all Nether biomes and deals 0.05 damage per game tick.
Block Damage - occurs when approaching dangerous blocks. Standard settings include 0.10 damage per tick when inside warped roots or within 2 blocks of ancient debris.
Safe Zones
The mod also allows creating protected areas where biome damage does not work. However, block damage continues to function even in such zones. The radius of safe zones can be configured using datapacks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Forge Porting and Backward Compatibility
Forge porting will be considered in the future, but do not expect instant implementation. If you want to help with development, create a pull request in the project repository.
Development Plans
One of the desired features is visualization of safe and dangerous zones using special effects, similar to light crystals in Metroid Prime 2. However, current implementation may cause performance issues. Assistance from experienced developers in implementing this feature without lags is welcome.
Datapack Examples
For those unfamiliar with creating datapacks, ready-made templates are available for customizing the mod to your needs.
