Insatiable
Imagine this scenario: you start playing a new modpack, everything is going great, when suddenly you realize your hunger bar is empty and you can't run anymore. There are plenty of interesting creatures around, but... none of them drop any meat or edible items. You're forced to desperately hop around searching for something to eat. If you've encountered this situation, this modification was made specifically for you!
Hunting Variety
Insatiable is a mod for Forge versions 1.16.5 and 1.18.1 that allows most non-arthropod animals in the game to drop generic pieces of "Game Meat". A single meat type helps reduce inventory clutter while providing the player with necessary nourishment! The development aims to make food gathering less tedious during exploration, especially when combined with other mods.
Attention to Detail
Be careful! Raw game can be harmful - consuming it will cause brief mining fatigue. To ensure farm animals don't lose their relevance compared to hunting, game isn't as nourishing as steak or pork. In terms of hunger and saturation, it's closer to rabbit or fish.
However, if you have some wheat and carrots, you can combine them with cooked game to create a delicious meat pie! This is a highly saturating dish, perfect for long journeys or using leftover findings from exploration.
Additional Features
Raw and cooked chicken are now called "raw/cooked fowl" and will be dropped by all avian creatures! (For proper functionality, Mod Resources must be placed above the Minecraft resource pack)
Compatibility and Expansions
The mod is compatible with Quark, Alex's Mobs, and Neapolitan!
Main Additions:
- Raw/Cooked Game Meat - dropped by most animals
- Meat Pies - crafted from wheat, cooked game meat, and vegetables, very filling and nutritious
Version 1.18.1+ Only:
- Raw/Cooked Light Meat - obtained from aquatic creatures, amphibians, and reptiles
- Strange Meat - dropped by animals that shouldn't be eaten, as well as humanoids and unusual creatures
- Bug Guts - obtained from all insects and arachnids in the game
- Spider Cookie - crafted from bug guts, cookie ingredients, and spider eyes. Terrible to eat during the day, but becomes incredibly delicious at night - even better than steak!
- Bug Stew - prepared from dirt, bug guts, strange meat, and a bowl. Better at filling you up, but may apply a negative potion effect for a long period, though chances are much better than eating strange meat alone

Additional Compatibility
For additional compatibility with Alex's Mobs and other mods, you need to download the corresponding datapack and place it in the datapacks folder of the target world.
Please note that due to a minor bug, UAM's whales and iguanas temporarily won't drop meat, but all other non-arthropod animals that don't drop other meat types will do so. As in the original version, the amount of meat dropped depends on the mob's size and the meat's edibility.
Important: This is ONLY required for mod version 1.16.5! Version 1.18.1+ already has built-in integration.
