Item Utils
Item Utils is a datapack by Gears that introduces numerous small features designed to enhance your Minecraft survival world's aesthetics without resorting to cheats.
How to Use
You can access the main menu by reloading your world or executing the command /trigger item_utils.main_menu. This will display a list of clickable buttons, each activating a specific feature. Alternatively, you can trigger functions manually via their respective commands.
Features
Custom Model Data
Activated with /trigger item_utils.custom_model_data set <model value>. This command sets custom model data for the item in your hand based on the specified parameter. This function doesn't work automatically from the main menu—inputting a numerical value is required.
Invisible Item Frames
Triggered via /trigger item_utils.invisible_item_frame. If you're holding an item frame (regular or glow type), it will be renamed to "Invisible" and will actually become invisible once placed.
Text Displays
Command /trigger item_utils.text_display creates a text display entity at your feet with content matching the name of the item in your main hand.
Item Displays
Function /trigger item_utils.item_display takes the item in your hand and places it into a floating item display entity.
Remove Display Entities
Using /trigger item_utils.remove_display_entity, you can remove the display entity closest to you—helpful for fixing mistakes or when you want to remove an object. Items from displays will be dropped.
Name Styling
Command /trigger item_utils.style_name helps format the current item's name for text displays or other purposes. It offers various colors and formatting options including italic and bold styles.
