Unfortunately, I don't have the opportunity to continue developing this project as planned. The modification will remain in its current state indefinitely. It is distributed under the MIT license, so if someone wants to take over the project - let me know. Updates are unlikely in the near future.

We all love CIT - the ability to change item appearances using resource packs is truly impressive. However, OptiFine was originally created for Forge and vanilla, making fundamental changes to how the game works.

This modification allows applying custom models to items based on NBT values directly in JSON files. See the wiki for usage details.

IMPORTANT: The two options in configuration and ModMenu are experimental. They are disabled by default. If you enable them and something goes wrong - report it.

P.S.: If, after looking at the code, you find a more optimal solution - create an issue and explain your idea. I'm willing to learn.

And answering a frequent question: porting to Forge is not planned, but the source code is open and licensed under MIT, so you can do it yourself.
