IV Chaining for Pixelmon
What is IV chaining?
The IV chaining mechanic is based on the concept of repeatedly encountering and defeating the same Pokémon. With proper execution, this method provides a chance to obtain Pokémon with perfect IV values of 31. Maintaining the chain consistently guarantees four perfect stats, with potential for even more when random generation is favorable.
How does the mechanism work?
The addon operates as follows: after defeating or catching a Pokémon, the counter checks if it belongs to the current chain. If it matches, the counter increments; if not, it resets and begins tracking a new Pokémon. Spawning a new Pokémon within the chain causes the addon to replace some random IVs with perfect values. After 5 encounters, one perfect IV is guaranteed; after 10 encounters, two; after 20 encounters, three. The maximum is reached at 30 encounters, providing four guaranteed perfect stats. Progress can be tracked using the /ivchain command or by crafting a DexNav item.
The mod operates exclusively on the server side, allowing gameplay without a local installation. Functionality in single-player mode is also confirmed.
