Jeff's Gibbing
Bloody Mechanics for Zombie Apocalypse
The "Jeff's Gibbing" mod adds a spectacular undead destruction system to Minecraft. When you deal massive damage to zombies, husks, or drowned, their bodies explode into pieces, leaving behind a visceral pile of flesh.
How the gibbing system works
To activate the effect, you need to land a critical strike. To tear apart a standard zombie with 20 health points, you need to inflict damage equal to 250% of its maximum health pool, meaning at least 50 damage units.
Armor and health status influence
Armored mobs are harder to tear apart. If the undead has less than 10 armor points, the standard requirement of 250% damage applies. For more protected enemies with armor above 10 points, you need to deal at least 350% of their maximum health.
Damage from firearms in the Modern Warfare mod (TacZ) is calculated differently and requires higher values to achieve the effect.
It's also worth noting that the less health a zombie has remaining, the higher the chance they will be torn apart in the next strike.
Secret bonus and inspiration sources
As an easter egg, the mod adds the "Quad Damage" effect from the classic Quake shooter, available only in creative mode.
The gore mechanics are inspired by 90s arcade shooters like Quake and Unreal Tournament, where such effects were common on arenas.
Optimal application
This modification was primarily created for the "Cursed Walking" modpack but perfectly complements any other zombie apocalypse projects, adding more cinematic quality and brutality to battles.
