No Creeper Grief

Block protection with entity damage preservation

Creepers still damage surrounding entities when exploding, but no longer destroy blocks.

🪄 What is it?

This is my take on popular mob-griefing prevention datapacks. The main difference from other solutions is that creepers retain their ability to damage living entities when exploding, but completely lose the ability to destroy blocks. Many similar datapacks simply completely disable creeper explosions.

⚙️ Settings

No Creeper Grief offers two operating modes:

  • Safe Mode - activated by default. This mode guarantees block protection by tracking the explosion itself. The only limitation is that creepers will emit effect particles when exploding.

  • Proper Mode - uses creeper behavior rules to predict the moment of explosion, death, or disappearance. This mode is considered safe enough during normal gameplay and may only fail in very rare situations, such as when a player ignites a creeper immediately before changing dimensions. The advantage of this mode is that creepers won't emit effect particles when exploding.

To set a mode, use the command:

/function pk_no_cr:settings/mode/set {mode:"<mode>"}

Where <mode> can be safe or proper:

/function pk_no_cr:settings/mode/set {mode:"safe"}
/function pk_no_cr:settings/mode/set {mode:"proper"}

You can also check the currently active mode using the command:

/function pk_no_cr:settings/mode/get

🧹 Uninstallation

No Creeper Grief includes an automatic uninstallation process. Running it will perform the following actions:

  • Remove all scores and storage related to this datapack
  • If no more KawaMood datapacks are installed, also remove all common scores and storage

Command to start the uninstallation process:

/function pk_no_cr:cmd/uninstall
