The Kinder Mod

About Kinder

Kinder is a Minecraft modification inspired by the Steven Universe animated series. It introduces various types of gems that can become loyal assistants to the player. Even if you're unfamiliar with the original show, the mechanics of working with these creatures are intuitive and easy to master.

Available Versions and Dependencies

Currently, the mod is available for Minecraft 1.20.1 and works exclusively on the Fabric modloader. For proper functionality, additional mods are required: Fabric API, Cloth Config, and Geckolib.

Content Variety

The mod includes four types of gems, various blocks and items, as well as specific structures for obtaining them.

Gem Varieties

Ruby

Small combat gems that exclusively use pink essence. Individually they lack significant strength but become formidable weapons in large numbers.

Quartz

Medium-sized warriors available in all 16 Minecraft colors. Each fighter possesses considerable power, and with enough of them, you can challenge even a Warden.

Pearl

Medium-sized utility gems capable of carrying your items similar to shulker boxes. Their inventory size depends on their perfection rating: from the standard 27 slots up to an impressive 54! These gems offer more customization options.

Sapphire

Small helper gems that can grant various positive effects to the player and other gems under their ownership, and in some cases, negative effects as well.

Interaction Features

Behavior Modes

You can change your gems' movement modes using Shift+Right-click. Three options are available: following the player, staying in place, and free wandering.

Disappearance Mechanics

When taking lethal damage or being activated via Shift+Left-click by their owner, gems disappear, leaving behind their respective item. This soul can later be transformed back into a full-fledged assistant. Future updates may include the possibility of complete gem destruction.

Taming Process

To gain control over a gem, simply Right-click an untamed specimen. Thereafter, the creature will obey your commands.

Perfection System

All gems have a perfection parameter with six possible values. The most common is the middle rating of 3. Perfection influences many characteristics: health, damage, and the specifics of ability usage.

Appearance Customization

Using regular dyes, you can customize gem outfits (Right-click) and, via Shift+Right-click, change the color of their symbols.

Creating Gems

Essence Sources

Essence is a special fluid required for gem creation. The initial variant can be obtained from dried shard flower seeds found in various structures (desert pyramids, jungle temples) or purchased from farmer villagers. After soaking in water, the seeds transform into one of four colors: white, yellow, blue, or pink. Flowers grown from these can be used to create essence.

Incubators: Gem Creation

Incubators are key structures for obtaining gems. After placing the device and inserting two types of essence inside, activate it with Right-click to start the process. The final result depends on several factors: the color of essence used and the biome's temperature affect the type and appearance, while depth location and proximity to required blocks determine the perfection rating. The gem is extracted via simple Right-click on the incubator.

Important: placing an incubator at high altitude or using low-quality blocks (grass, dirt) may cause the device to explode. Be cautious.

Pearl Acquisition Method

Creating pearls requires oyster shells filled with water. Place white essence inside and wait for characteristic particles to appear after the process completes. Break the shell to obtain the pearl. The color depends on the biome temperature, while the perfection rating is determined by depth location and environmental humidity level.

For gentler extraction, use a special tool - the pearl shuck. However, repeated use on the same shell gradually wears down the structure.

Special Equipment

Pearl Extraction Tool

Allows for careful pearl extraction from shells, minimizing damage to oysters. Repeated use on the same object may lead to its destruction.

Customization Device

Equipment for fine-tuning pearl parameters, controllable via Shift+Right-click to select parameters and regular Right-click to switch options.

Gem Restorer

Restores the gem's default state, clearing ownership memory for subsequent transfer to another player. World settings can restrict the ability to reprogram others' gems.
