Kingdoms & Sieges

Mod Features
Kingdoms & Sieges is a modification that brings realistic siege warfare and kingdom systems to Minecraft. While it pairs perfectly with the Knights and Heraldry mod, it doesn't require it to function — everything works independently.
Creating a Kingdom
Players can establish their own kingdom by placing a bell block and right-clicking it with a banner. This grants you a crown — a special item that displays your territory boundaries and provides access to kingdom management functions. To rename your state, use a name tag by clicking it on the bell.
To add or remove players from the kingdom, wear the crown and right-click on the desired character with an empty hand.
Only kingdom members can place and break blocks within its territory (unless siege engines are used). Hostile mobs also don't spawn inside the domain.
You can expand your territory by offering emeralds to the bell — each gem increases the influence radius.
If outsiders launch projectiles or bring siege machines to your lands, a siege will begin.
Siege Mechanics
The mod condenses real months and years of siege operations into just a few hours of gameplay.
When a siege starts, all participants receive the hunger effect, symbolizing resource consumption during military operations. This encourages players to establish efficient supply chains.
Any participant who dies and respawns is eliminated from the battle. Upon returning to the kingdom area, they raise their hands in surrender and cannot attack or be attacked for the remainder of the siege. Each defender's death reduces the kingdom's wealth and shrinks its territory.
Kingdom rules remain in effect — outsiders cannot build or break blocks, but siege engines can. This forces attackers to actively use artillery to breach defenses and prevents building machines directly against fortifications.
The siege ends when one of these conditions is met:
- Destruction of the defenders' bell — this eliminates the kingdom and its domain
- Death of all attackers
- Voluntary surrender by either side through interaction with the bell
Building Siege Engines
Siege machines are constructed following the iron golem principle — from specific blocks. To learn building recipes, you need to find manuscripts as loot. While the manuscripts themselves aren't required for creation, they show the correct construction.
Manuscripts can be found in pillager outposts, woodland mansions, and villages.
