Liquid Enchanting
Welcome to the world of liquid enchantments! This mod allows you to imbue your armor and weapons with potion effects, transforming ordinary items into powerful artifacts with magical properties.

How It Works
Using a crafting table, you can combine potions or nether stars with armor, tools, or weapons. The resulting items gain magical properties: enchanted armor provides continuous potion effects while worn, and enchanted swords apply potion effects to targets for 10 seconds upon hit.
Supported Item Types:
- Any armor (including elytra) - effect remains active while worn
- Shields - activate effects when held in main or offhand
- Bows and crossbows - transfer effects to projectiles upon hitting targets
Cross-Mod Compatibility
Available for version 1.12
The mod works excellently with items from other modifications! Compatibility has been tested with the following mods (likely works with others too):
- Armor Expansion
- Tinkers / Constructs Armory
- Extra Alchemy
- PotionCore
- PotionCraft
By default, combined potions are disabled as they can be too powerful. This feature can be activated in configuration settings if needed.
Known Limitations and Incompatibilities
Some modified items can be "enchanted" but the potion effect will work incorrectly and apply as melee damage:
- Tinkers shurikens
- Spartan Weaponry crossbows
- Tinkers crossbow bolts (effect should be applied to the crossbow itself)
- Thermal Foundation shields
Crafting Items
Crafting recipes are very simple: place your armor or weapon item in the center slot of a crafting table and surround it with potions of the same type.
![]()
All potions must be of the same type and either base or enhanced strength versions. Potions with extended duration don't work in these crafting recipes.
Important: For Minecraft versions 1.7 and 1.8, use only potions created at brewing stands, not from the creative inventory.
Changing and Removing Effects
Only one potion effect can be stored on an item at a time (unless using mods with combined potions). To change the effect, simply repeat the crafting recipe with a new potion. To completely remove an effect, use water bottles instead of potions.
Configuration Settings
Upon first launch, the mod automatically creates a configuration file. Available settings include:
- Effect duration when hitting entities
- Permission to create items with combined potions (disabled by default)
- Permission for instant effects on armor (disabled by default, produces amusing results when enabled)
- Disabling specific potions by their registry names
Compatibility with Enchantment Systems
The mod is fully compatible with vanilla and custom enchantment systems. You can use already enchanted or damaged items as ingredients, and apply vanilla enchantments to items with potion effects. When used with other enchantment mods, modified enchantments should also transfer correctly between items.
