Liroth: Revamped (Fabric)

Two years ago, I created my first Minecraft mod, which became the starting point in my understanding of game modification. This project helped me comprehend complex tasks: creating unique block entities, generating entire dimensions with random structures. This mod version features new BlockEntity additions, dimensions, and buildings, yet without bosses — creating unique opponents that don't copy vanilla ones turned out to be too challenging.

Countless hours of work were needed to refine and rework this mod while preserving the Minecraft spirit. The original version's lore was almost entirely removed since I couldn't implement it technically with quality. Nevertheless, the new Liroth version fully matches its original concept — dimensions.

And these are just two of the presented dimensions! To see the rest, I strongly recommend installing the mod and diving into exploration.

Gameplay

The mod guide significantly differs from the previous version and is available through Patchouli. While in the original version I promised to add a book but couldn't finish it due to lack of motivation, now it's included and details all mod features comprehensively.

Book Recipe

To craft the guide book, you'll need a regular leather and paper book plus a wilted Liroth rose, found in new structures spawning in the regular world. After gathering ingredients, you can craft the book in a 2x2 or 3x3 crafting grid — size doesn't matter.

The guide contains information about all structures, mobs, dimensions, and biomes in the mod, plus instructions for using special blocks and creating weapons with armor.

New Mobs

In the dimensions, you'll encounter three unique creatures:

Forsaken Corpse (formerly Skilvert) Forsaken Corpse

The name was changed for better lore alignment and pronunciation ease.

Skeletal Freak (formerly Gulift) Skeletal Freak

Completely updated mob for the revamped version.

Fungal Fiend Fungal Fiend

A new dimension inhabitant whose behavior and features you can study during gameplay. Details about it are in the guide.

Technical Features

The main difference from the original version is complete abandonment of MCreator. Everything was rewritten from scratch, not a single line of code from the old mod remains. Although MCreator is an excellent tool for beginner modders, especially those unfamiliar with programming, I decided to completely eliminate its limitations and create everything with my own hands.

Some textures from the original mod were preserved, but most resources were updated or reworked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will there be further mod updates?
A: Updates for new Minecraft versions — yes, new content — unlikely.

Q: Is there a Forge version available?
A: You can find the Forge version in the corresponding publication.

Q: Why was Fabric chosen?
A: Due to more detailed documentation.

Q: What to expect from refactoring through Architectury?
A: Considering the possibility of complete code rewrite using Architectury since March (time of writing this description). Main concepts and functions are ready, technical implementation remains.

Q: Why were two previous dimensions removed?
A: They were lore-oriented and had no practical gameplay application.

Q: Many elements remain in the mod but aren't used anywhere. Why did you do this?
A: After making textures for some unnecessary blocks, I decided to leave them for decorative purposes or just because.

Q: Is there REI support?
A: Due to recipe implementation method (had to use hardcoding instead of standard solutions), integration proved difficult. Source code is open, and if someone can implement support better — you can contribute.

Q: Is the source code open?
A: Yes, the mod is completely open.

Q: Can I add this mod to my modpack?
A: Of course, just credit the author.
