Localized Lore - Support for Localized Item Descriptions
This mod is a client-side solution based on Mixin that extends Minecraft 1.12.2 capabilities by adding support for the "LocLore" tag. It's the perfect tool for modpack creators who want to make their content accessible to players in different languages.
The main problem this mod solves: standard "Name" and "Lore" tags in Minecraft contain hardcoded text that doesn't automatically translate when the game language is changed. This means players using a different interface language may not understand the names and descriptions of special items in your modpack.
How It Works
Minecraft 1.12.2 already supports the "LocName" tag, which allows using localized item names instead of hardcoded text. However, there was no similar capability for descriptions (lore) - until this mod appeared.
Now you can use the "LocLore" tag in the same way as "LocName". Both tags accept language keys from localization files, allowing automatic text translation based on the player's chosen language.
Usage example:
/give @p stone 1 0 {display:{LocName:"tile.stone.andesiteSmooth.name",LocLore:["tile.shulkerBoxGray.name"]}}
Important advantage: as with "LocName", the text is not automatically formatted in italics, giving more control over appearance.
Technical Features
The mod works on the client side and requires Mixin Bootstrap in the mods folder (if it's not already installed in your modpack). This ensures proper loading of Mixin extensions.
For operation, you need to add custom language files with your keys to the resources folder or use a Resource Pack. Example entry in a language file:
example.redtext=§cThis is red text
The mod has been tested with RLCraft - a complex modpack containing numerous modifications and Mixin extensions, confirming its stability and compatibility.
