LocalizedBook
Overview
The LocalizedBook mod significantly extends localization capabilities for Minecraft enthusiasts. It allows customization of previously untranslatable elements in Patchouli books, such as names, main page text, and subtitles. This is an indispensable tool for mod developers and custom pack creators aiming to provide full language support for multilingual audiences.
Key Features
Translate three key Patchouli parameters: name, landing_text, and subtitle through simple TOML-based configuration. The functionality allows reverting to original text by setting any of these fields to default.
Installation
- Ensure Fabric API/Forge and Patchouli mod are present in your system
- Download LocalizedBook and move the file to the mods folder
- Restart Minecraft to activate the mod
Configuration
To configure localization for your books, open the mainconfig.toml file at path .minecraft\config\localizedbook. For each book use the format "modid:bookid" = [name or default, landing text or default, subtitle or default]. Supports using standard translation keys similar to Patchouli.
Example setup for Botanical Lexicon: "botania:lexicon" = ["Botania Guide", "Welcome to the world of plant magic", "Your guide to plants and magic"]
Any parameter can remain unchanged by setting it to default - then the original text from book.json will be used.
Usage
After making changes to the configuration file, restart Minecraft to display the updates. Ensure correct book identifiers are specified for proper display of localized content.
