Persistent Animal Following in Minecraft
Imagine this scenario: you're leading cows to a new pasture, but suddenly a zombie appears or you need to open a door. Previously, animals would immediately stop following you as soon as you switched items in your hand. The Longer Following Time mod solves this problem!
Now, when you show animals wheat or other food and then put it away, they'll continue to follow you for a set amount of time. This is very convenient when you need to defend against enemies, use a particular item, or simply navigate terrain.

Customization of Following Time
By default, animals will pursue you for 4 seconds after you change the item in your hand. This is sufficient for most situations - opening a door, jumping over an obstacle, or repelling an enemy.
If you want to adjust this duration, you can easily configure it in the mod's configuration file. Set any value that seems appropriate to you!

How It Works
When you hold bait in your hand (wheat for cows, seeds for chickens, carrots for pigs, etc.), animals begin to follow you. If you switch items, they won't immediately lose interest - you'll have several seconds to perform necessary actions.
It's as if the animals had memory: they remember that you recently showed them food, so they continue to follow you for a while.

Server Compatibility
The mod works excellently on servers - both in single-player games and with friends. All settings are synchronized so all players have the same experience.
Use in Modpacks
You can freely add Longer Following Time to your mod collections. It's a small but very useful mod that makes animal management much more convenient.
