Loot Rebalance
The Loot Rebalance mod fundamentally changes the drop system in vanilla Minecraft, making it more balanced and predictable. Instead of random values, you now get fixed amounts of resources from many creatures and objects.
Main Changes
Player Interactions
When shearing sheep, you receive a random amount of additional wool from 1 to 9 blocks, making this process more profitable.
Block Changes
Melon block now always drops as a whole block, regardless of the tool used. No more worrying about random slice amounts.
Peaceful Mobs Without Drops
The following peaceful creatures no longer leave any items behind:
- dolphins
- donkeys
- horses
- mules
- pandas
- polar bears
- parrots
- turtles
Elimination of Randomness
Key changes to the drop system:
- Shulkers always give 2 shells
- Snow golems leave exactly 2 snow blocks
- Iron golems drop as 4 iron blocks instead of ingots (flowers remain unchanged)
Removed the "killed by player" condition, so the following mobs now drop regardless of death method:
- phantoms
- spiders
- cave spiders
- blazes
Drop Balancing
Removed some excessive items from loot:
- Zombies, zombie villagers, and husks no longer drop iron, carrots, and potatoes
- Witches stopped dropping glowstone, redstone, and sticks
- Elder guardians no longer drop cod and prismarine shards
New Drop Types
Added completely new resource acquisition opportunities:
- Wandering trader can drop from 0 to 3 emeralds (more with looting enchantment)
- Ender Dragon has 50% chance of dropping elytra
- Endermites with 15% probability drop ender pearls
- Vexes with 15% chance leave phantom membranes
- Illusioners can drop with 50% probability either phantom membrane or emerald block, and with 5% chance - enchanted golden apple
- Wither has 25% probability of dropping enchanted golden apple
- Elder guardians have increased existing drops from fishing loot table and higher probability of wet sponge drops
