Lootr - Personal Loot Containers

What does this mod do?

The Lootr mod completely changes the loot acquisition system from containers in Minecraft. Every chest, barrel, shulker, or minecart with a loot table creates a unique inventory for each player who opens it! This means you'll always find a full set of items, regardless of who opened the container before you.

Visual Changes

All converted containers receive a special appearance. Their color changes from golden to blue if a player has already opened that chest. This makes it easy to determine whether you've explored a particular area before.

Usage Benefits

With Lootr, the race to be first to discover structures disappears - no more rushing to beat other players. You'll never open a chest and find someone else's trash. The most important advantage - the mod encourages players to explore existing structures instead of generating new chunks, which significantly reduces world size!

Compatibility and Versions

The mod is available for Fabric on all versions from 1.18 and is actively developed. For Forge, versions 1.12.2, 1.16.5, 1.18, 1.19, and 1.20 are supported. Important: Lootr must be installed on both server and client.

Configuration and Features

Administrators can configure various parameters:

  • Blacklist specific loot tables or dimensions
  • Setting up container "decay" after a certain time after opening
  • System for "refreshing" chest contents after specified intervals
  • Creating custom containers using the /lootr custom command

Important Features

When adding the mod to an existing world, only unopened containers are converted. Players can break chests only while sneaking, preventing accidental destruction. In client settings, visual changes can be disabled, but then it won't be visible whether the container was previously opened.

Demonstration

Note: Removing the mod will cause all converted containers to disappear from the world.
