LQHP: Low-Quality Horror Project
LQHP is a datapack that brings elements of eerie atmosphere and unexpected surprises to the Minecraft world.
Impenetrable Fog
One of the key features of the modification is the addition of dense fog to the overworld. If you're using shaders that already create a similar effect, or simply find it annoying, a version without this feature is available.
Mysterious Structures
The world features various decorative structures that create a sense of something unexplained. These can range from simple crafting tables you didn't place to unexpected patches of bedrock, or even recreations of old bugs in the form of massive stone monoliths. Classic elements like pyramids and narrow 2×2 tunnels are also included.
Random Events
Every 5-20 minutes, random events occur that intensify the tense atmosphere. These include:
- Spontaneous combustion of items
- Notes appearing in your inventory
- Unexpected armor stands appearing behind the player
- Someone's eyes watching you from a distance
- Accelerated passage of time
It's recommended to play in singleplayer mode with music turned off for maximum immersion.
This datapack was created in 3.5 days for a PMC competition and later adapted for Modrinth. Tested in singleplayer, will likely work in multiplayer as well.
