Lucky's Mosslings and Villages
Introduces a completely new race of creatures to your world — the Mosslings! The mod features seven different types of these beings: small, warriors, archers, hawks, horses, brutes, and wild brutes. They have their own unique villages, forts, and a special biome — the Rock Wood Forest.
Varieties of Mosslings
Small Mosslings and Brutes
These peaceful creatures occasionally lay eggs that later hatch into new mosslings. An interesting feature: if you attack a small mossling, it has a chance to transform into a hostile brute — a large aggressive counterpart with huge teeth that attacks everything around (including other mosslings). After some time, the brute transforms back into a peaceful small mossling. To hatch a small mossling or brute, place an egg on a moss block.
Mossling Warrior
These fighters are armed with an axe and shield, have sturdy health, and attack any monsters in sight. They are immune to projectile attacks. To hatch a warrior, place the egg in water at least two blocks deep.
Mossling Archer
Armed solely with bows, these beings are excellent long-range archers, especially effective in groups. Like warriors, they attack nearby monsters. To hatch an archer, place the egg on a grass block.
Mossling Hawk
The flying version of mosslings attacks monster mobs. To hatch a hawk, place the egg on a gravel block.
Mossling Horse
These creatures move faster than regular horses and do not take fall damage. To get a horse, place the egg on top of a hay bale.
Wild Brute
This type spawns in warm biomes and does not transform back into small mosslings. They are distinguished from regular brutes by their dirtier color and glowing eyes.
Taming and Interaction
Each mossling type is adorned with a flower of a specific color on its head or body. They can be tamed using flowers, ores, or gems of the corresponding color. For example, a warrior with a blue flower on its head can be tamed with lapis lazuli, diamond, blue orchid, or cornflower — the creature will follow the player holding any of these items.
Settlements and Structures
Mosslings spawn in their unique biome — the Rock Wood Forest — but do not appear in standard Minecraft biomes. They also live in villages unique to them, generated similarly to regular villages but featuring houses based on mushrooms and moss, as well as stone structures. These villages may occasionally appear in vanilla biomes but are most common in the Rock Wood Forest.
In mossling villages, you will find their eggs placed inside or near structures. You can leave the eggs for natural hatching or collect them to raise mosslings anywhere convenient — for instance, create an entire army at your base. However, remember: eggs will only develop under specific conditions — on grass, gravel, a hay bale, a moss block, or at least two blocks deep in water. The placement location determines the type of mossling that hatches.
Other mossling structures can be found in the world: forts and tall towers made of giant mushrooms.
