Introducing Spell Foci
Foci are craftable items through which a spellcaster channels their energy to activate magical effects. Most commonly, this uses Stamina, which regenerates over time, but rumors speak of other resources existing: Rage, Vengeance, Blood, and Chaos.
When a spell is activated, it acquires two elements determined by the nature of its effects.
Governing Elements
Holy: Governs selfless magic, as well as wide-ranging or universal magic.
Undeath: Controls the animation of inanimate objects and life-draining effects.
Arcane: Manages magic that benefits only the caster themselves.
Chaos: Governs unpredictable or unintended side effects.
Classical Elements
Nature: Includes most healing spells, poisons, bleeding effects, and spells affecting plant life.
Frost: Responsible for unchanging effects such as caster-centered auras, protective barriers, and passive enhancements.
Air: Manages location-based spells, remote activation, and magical travel.
Fire: Controls straightforward effects like projectiles, beams, and weapon enhancements.
Extensibility
The magic system is designed to support third-party addons, protective wards, magical armor, charms, and much more. Spells have their own events and can define new magical resources—all client synchronization is already implemented.
Configurability
Configuration uses the HJSON format and synchronizes with the client upon connection, allowing each server to customize all built-in spells according to their preferences in an intuitive format.
