Magma Monsters
Dangerous Lava Inhabitants
The Magma Monsters modification adds extra danger to Minecraft by introducing two new hostile creatures associated with magma and fire.
Two types of these creatures appear in the world: regular Magma Monsters and their smaller versions - Magma Grunts. Both types possess unique abilities and behavioral characteristics.
Monster Features
Magma monsters spawn near lava sources (starting from version 1.16.3 - directly in lava). They attack players with fireballs at range and can set blocks on fire as they move across them.
An interesting feature is their reaction to water: upon contact with liquid, the monsters transform into obsidian (regular) or stone (grunts), becoming slower and more protected. However, if the hardened creatures find themselves in lava again, they return to their molten state.
Hardened versions move slower and cannot shoot fireballs, but have increased protection and can inflict the slowness effect on players.
Loot from monsters also differs depending on their current form - molten or hardened.
Modification Settings
The mod offers extensive configuration options:
- Control monster spawning in the Overworld or Nether
- Adjust spawn height
- Regulate spawn probability in different dimensions
- Set minimum and maximum group sizes
- Option to disable block ignition during movement
- Configure damage, health, and other monster parameters
Starting from version 1.16.3, a dimension blacklist is available for more precise control over creature spawning.
Special thanks to Shinoow for creating the monster sounds.
