MCHeli Minecraft Helicopter Mod
Immerse yourself in the world of aviation with MCHeli, a mod that fundamentally transforms Minecraft gameplay by adding various planes and helicopters! This mod stands out for its high customizability and unique asset system that allows creating custom vehicles without programming knowledge.
Main Features
Helicopters
Mastering helicopter controls requires some practice. Throttle adjustment enables movement in the direction of rotor rotation. With level controls, you'll ascend vertically. Tilting the mouse forward lowers the nose and provides forward motion. Once you get the hang of it, flight control becomes intuitive and opens new world exploration possibilities. Some models can land on water and transport passengers, including gunners for defense.
Planes
Aircraft require sufficient space for takeoff. Gradual throttle increase accelerates the plane, after which raising the nose provides lift-off. Control is managed via mouse. Many models, similar to helicopters, can land on water surfaces. For example, the V-22 Osprey accommodates up to 14 passengers!
VTOL Aircraft
A special class of aircraft with the ability to switch between standard and vertical flight modes by pressing the F key. Currently, this feature is available for the Harrier and MV-22 Osprey. In VTOL mode, control resembles helicopter handling, while in standard mode the aircraft behaves like a conventional flying vehicle.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
One of the most impressive mod features! Place a UAV control station and select an appropriate vehicle, such as the MQ-9 Reaper. Interacting with the station opens an interface with coordinates for vehicle spawning. After setting coordinates and placing the UAV item in the corresponding slot, you switch to drone control.
Both aircraft and helicopter UAVs of various sizes are available, some capable of transporting passengers. It's important to remember that control is remote - your character remains at the station and is vulnerable to attacks. Sound effects also originate from the player, not the drone, adding realism.
Chain and Container System
Unique capability to attach any non-living objects to helicopters. Attached items move below the aircraft and can be dropped at any moment. The package includes a 54-slot container, perfect for roleplay deliveries and airdrops on servers.
Chains also allow connecting any two non-living objects together. However, it should be noted that some vehicles may sustain damage during flight.
Parachute
Single-use item for safe descent. Parachute activation provides slow and controlled landing - an excellent solution for emergency aircraft evacuation.
Weaponry
The mod includes diverse armament:
- Stinger missiles - the only ground-based weapon requiring ammunition, capable of locking onto aerial targets
- Machine guns, missiles, bombs, and torpedoes on military aircraft
- Various turrets - from compact machine guns to powerful cannons
- Laser target designator for calling airstrikes
It's recommended to disable explosive damage in settings for multiplayer servers.
Installation
The installation process differs from standard but remains simple. Instead of a .jar file, you receive a .zip archive. Extract it and place the mcheli folder directly into the /mods directory. The META-INF folder can be deleted. It's important not to archive the mcheli folder, as this prevents correct asset loading.
Add-ons
Various additional packages are available, including unique planes, military aviation, Vietnam and World War II era equipment, civilian aircraft, fictional models, cars, tanks, ground weaponry, and decorative elements.
Configuration
The configuration file allows disabling explosive damage and changing controls. More experienced users can modify the asset system to alter crafting recipes, vehicle characteristics, and textures.
