ME-Beam-Former
A lightweight addon for Applied Energistics 2 that creates a visible colored connecting line between two linked cable bus sections. This modification offers an elegant visual method for connecting ME network nodes across small gaps without additional cables.
Key Features
- Connect two Beam Former components facing each other (at distances up to 32 blocks)
- Real-time display of colored connecting line (uses cable color)
- Quick toggle: Shift+Right Click combination hides or shows the line for each pair
- Accounts for obstacles and component collisions: connection automatically breaks when blocked
- Compatible with AE2 grid structure and uses proper connection logic

Implementation Features
- Visual design fully matches AE2 style and rendering system
- All visual effects work only on the client side, server logic remains minimal and safe
- Compatible with most graphics optimizers. If visual artifacts occur when using shaders or other optimization mods, it's recommended to disable specific settings related to line display
Quick Start
- Craft two Beam Former components
- Install them on cable buses, facing each other
- Connect power to the ME network and enjoy the finished connection. Use Shift+Right Click on either component to toggle line visibility
