Meaningful Materials

Many mods face the issue of adding new materials like ores without providing sufficient uses for them. Often, a material is only used for crafting a set of equipment or a few blocks, with no other applications.

The goal of these materials is to give them more gameplay utility. There should be reasons to collect large quantities of these resources, even if they serve specialized purposes.

Cosmite Set

Cosmite Ore: Generates in the End between levels y=20 and y=70, covering almost the entire island territory except for the very bottom (unless other mods alter End generation).

Cosmite Block: Besides serving as storage for cosmite, possesses a unique property - falling blocks (sand, gravel, anvils) lose gravity when placed next to or under this block.

Cosmite Boots: Equivalent to iron boots in protection and durability, but additionally reduce gravitational effects on the wearer by half.

Cosmic Arrow: Similar to a regular arrow, but ignores gravity during flight.

Cosmic Lantern: Resembles a standard lantern, but doesn't require a support block for placement.

Recipe Enhancement: When crafting fireworks rockets, adding cosmite to the recipe increases flight duration by 1 unit, allowing to reach a new maximum of 4 levels.

Additional Feature: All items made from cosmite ignore gravity when dropped.

Infernium Set

Infernium Ore: Found in the Nether between levels y=70 and y=120, primarily near the Nether roof. When mined without Silk Touch enchantment, naturally generated ore creates lava.

Infernium Block: Functions similarly to magma blocks - burns when stepped on, but cannot be used to create bubble columns.

Infernium Dust: When combined with any food item, enhances its properties. Food improved with infernium restores additional hunger but sets the consumer on fire.

Infernium Lighter: Functional equivalent of flint and steel, but places Infernal Fire that burns infinitely regardless of block and doesn't spread. Creatures caught in Infernal Fire catch fire for two minutes.

Infernium Tools: Have slightly higher mining speed than iron, deal the same attack damage, and have slightly less durability than diamond. When the user is on fire, these tools gain increased mining speed and damage (comparable to netherite) and have a chance not to consume durability.

Development Plans

Although the modification has reached a state allowing its release as a beta version, there are several directions for further development:

  • Additional Materials: Possible addition of new materials, but this requires creative ideas
  • Functionality Expansion: Particularly, the Infernium set needs more uses to increase its value
  • Configuration Settings: The current version lacks the ability to adjust parameters, and a full release won't be announced until this feature is implemented
  • Compatibility with Other Mods: Integration with other modifications is planned to increase material usefulness in various game scenarios
