Mended Mending

About the Modification
Have you ever lost interest in your Minecraft world because you reached god-level equipment and no longer needed to mine for ores? The Mending enchantment made your gear eternal, breaking the gameplay loop. I've encountered this problem many times and found a solution: Mended Mending is an adaptation of the original Unmending mod for the latest Minecraft versions.
Mended Mending is a simple modification that nerfs Mending without making it useless. The Mending enchantment can no longer be applied to items. Instead, using a Mending book on an item resets the accumulated repair cost that increases when repairing and combining items on an anvil. This can be done an unlimited number of times, allowing you to repair equipment as much as you want and avoid the "Too Expensive!" message.
If an item was already enchanted with Mending before installing the mod (or you obtained loot with this enchantment), it will no longer consume experience or repair automatically. However, during the next repair on an anvil, the item will be fully restored, and the additional repair cost will be reset.
Why is This Needed?
Like the original developer Vazkii, I believe that Mending disrupts the gameplay loop by making ore mining unnecessary. When you have perfect tools, you only need experience to maintain them forever, which devalues resource gathering. Since mining is a fundamental part of the gameplay, I was looking for a way to change this and came across Unmending.
This implementation seems ideal because it restores the need to gather resources for tool repair while maintaining the relevance and usefulness of Mending, giving you the ability to keep tools forever. And with this port, it's now available in the latest versions.
