Mending Rework

About the Modification

Have you ever thought about how useless item repair on an anvil is in the standard game? Tired of endlessly searching for the Mending enchantment to keep your best gear in perfect condition? Mending Rework fundamentally changes and balances some vanilla mechanics that are considered either too weak or mandatory to use, adding new interesting features and reworking existing ones.

Main Features

Despite the name, this modification adds several interconnected functions:

Reworked Mending Enchantment

The main idea of the mod is a complete rework of the Mending enchantment. It now requires 30 experience levels to apply (but it bypasses the "too expensive" limit, hooray!), and for good reason: now you can repair any item for 1 experience level using the appropriate materials on an anvil without increasing the repair penalty. Time to repair!

New Renewal Enchantment

Miss the old Mending? Now it's called Renewal! This enchantment also costs 30 levels to obtain (and also bypasses the "too expensive" limit). However, obtaining it is significantly more difficult - you'll need to defeat the Wither and Ender Dragon multiple times and build a special structure to demonstrate your power. After that, place a book and Nether Star on the altar in the specified order.

Repair Bonuses

Any tool repaired on an anvil now receives a shiny bonus to damage and digging speed (10% by default, but you can change this in settings), which decreases as durability wears down. Important: this bonus is not increased with the Renewal enchantment, but only when repairing your items.

Tip: Use the anvil more often. Tip 2: Combine this with the reworked Mending.

Configuration

You can disable the Renewal enchantment through configuration. This means you won't be able to repair items with experience alone, and you'll only have the Mending changes. You can also configure the compatibility of new enchantments with each other and with Infinity. Finally, you can configure the repair bonus amount.

Compatibility

• Any mod that changes enchantment generation, anvils, mob/player heads, or item durability may cause issues
