Metamorph Max
What is this?
Metamorph Max is an extension for the popular Metamorph mod by McHorse. This addon significantly expands the functionality of the base mod by adding numerous new abilities for transformations that make each form more realistic and true to the original mobs. Additionally, the mod offers extra configuration settings that simplify working with Metamorph in modpacks and allow other mods to utilize Metamorph's powerful API without interference from gameplay mechanics.
Main Changes
By default, Metamorph Max overrides Metamorph's standard settings, activating all new features immediately after installation. This means all transformations automatically receive updated abilities. It's important to note that manual configuration in Metamorph's morphs.json takes priority over this mod's changes.
New Mob Abilities
Hostile Mobs:
- Enderman: Teleports away from certain damage types. Using the ability while crouching on a block allows picking it up, while Shift+crouch places the block back
- Creeper: Explosion now goes through the full detonation sequence. Can cancel explosion by crouching and pressing the ability button
- Skeleton: Can use bows without arrows, moves faster when drawing the bow, gets attacked by wolves, and can control spiders
- Witch: Can change potions to throw and has innate resistance to magic-based damage
Passive Mobs:
- Horse: Can rear up and be ridden by other players as transportation
- Cow: Other players can milk it using a bucket
- Sheep: Can be sheared and dyed, ability allows wool regeneration by eating grass
- Pig: Can be saddled and ridden, turns into zombie pigman when struck by lightning
Bosses and Special Mobs:
- Ender Dragon: When transforming, becomes a smaller version with full functionality - flight, dragon fireballs, mob repulsion
- Wither: Can shoot wither skulls, fly, gains projectile armor at low health
Configuration Options
The mod offers several important configuration settings:
- Disable Metamorph Survival Binds - blocks usage of transformation menus, ideal for modpacks with command-controlled transformations
- Disable Interaction Restrictions - removes prohibitions on picking up items and opening chests
- Disable Equipment Restrictions - allows mobs to wear armor and use items
- Override Metamorph Configuration - activates all transformation functions but disables additional gameplay features
Requirements
Metamorph Max requires installation of the main Metamorph mod and its McLib library, as well as Forge. Developers wanting to use Metamorph as a library are recommended to refer to MetamorphMax's configuration class.
