Chaos Edition - Chaos in Minecraft
Chaos Edition is a modification that gradually introduces chaotic changes into the game, creating an atmosphere of madness, unpredictability, and a unique challenge for players.
The main concept of the mod is to recreate the chaotic experience similar to what Super Mario 64: Chaos Edition offers - the famous hack that alters the game's code to create a special challenge. Although Chaos Edition is not a direct copy of its inspiration's mechanics, it offers its own interpretation of this idea in the Minecraft world.
This mod focuses on completing challenges where the goal is to see how far you can progress under constant exposure to random effects. Attempts to obtain diamonds, find netherite, defeat the Ender Dragon, and other self-imposed challenges constitute the essence of Chaos Edition. The mod is designed for entertainment through madness - both for the player themselves and for viewers.
It's important to note that some effects are applied silently. You won't know about their activation until you see the results! Other effects may be accompanied by sound cues. Some changes may turn out to be beneficial! Everything comes down to making the most of a difficult situation and preparing for the worst.
Chaos Edition is developed with a focus on the vanilla gaming experience. Some mods may work incorrectly or not work at all with this modification. Although compatibility with other mods is possible, it is not a development priority.
The best way to get acquainted with Chaos Edition is to play blind, but for the curious we've prepared additional information!
How Chaos Edition Works
Approximately every 750 ticks, the mod activates one of more than sixty different "Chaos Effects". The intervals between effects are random, and sometimes multiple effects can be applied simultaneously. A detailed description of each effect and mechanics is available in the wiki on GitHub.
Creation History
The development of Chaos Edition was motivated not only by the desire to create a project that would be interesting for others to watch, but also by the desire to learn Fabric for future modding!
