Mining Master

Mining Master is a modification that enriches the game world with ten unique ores capable of enchanting items. By applying these minerals to tools or armor pieces on a smithing table, you gain various magical effects. Each subsequent use of the same ore on one item increases the enchantment level.

Ores in the Overworld

Fire Ruby

• Grants weapons and armor with Flame, Fire Aspect, or Fire Protection effects depending on the item type. Most commonly found beneath desert biomes.

Ice Sapphire

• Provides Frost Walker, Freezing, or Snowpiercer enchantments according to equipment. Main deposits are located under icy biomes.

Spirit Garnet

• Grants Thorns, Leeching, or Loyalty depending on the item. Most prevalent under mountainous territories.

Haste Peridot

• Provides Efficiency, Quick Draw, or Lure. Main deposits are found beneath jungles.

Lucky Citrine

• Grants Fortune, Looting, or Luck of the Sea. Most commonly found under mesa biomes.

Dive Aquamarine

• Provides Aqua Affinity, Riptide, or Grace. Main deposits are located under oceans.

Ores in the Nether

Power Pyrite

• Grants Power, Sharpness, or Stonebreaker depending on the item. Most commonly found in Nether Wastes.

Heart Rhodonite

• Grants all armor pieces with Heartfelt enchantment. Main deposits are found in Soul Sand Valley.

Kinetic Opal

• Provides Blast Protection, Smelting, or Runner. Most commonly found in Basalt Deltas.

Ores in the End

Malachite Meteorite

• A meteorite composed of two new blocks: Malacrust and Malacore. Contains Air Malachite ores floating inside.

Air Malachite

• Grants Feather Falling, Knight Jump, or Floatation. Most commonly found beyond End Islands.

New Enchantments

We've added several unique enchantments that cannot be obtained through an enchantment table to make ore mining more interesting and valuable!

• Leeching - Swords and axes. 25% of critical damage is restored to the attacker as health.
• Freezing - Swords, axes, bows, and crossbows. Inflicts slowness and makes enemies vulnerable to critical hits.
• Snowpiercer - Leggings. Provides speed when running on snow and ice blocks.
• Grace - Chestplates. Grants Dolphin's Grace effect for a short time, which reactivates after drying off on land. Pairs well with Depth Strider.
• Stonebreaker - Pickaxes. Destroys stone, cobblestone, diorite, granite, andesite, and netherrack without dropping resources.
• Heartfelt - All armor. Increases maximum health by one heart per level. Damage is distributed proportionally across armor pieces.
• Smelting - Pickaxes and shovels. Smelts mined ore blocks! Must be paired with Silk Touch to mine Nether Gold Ore.
• Runner - Boots. Increases sprinting speed.
• Knight Jump - Leggings. Provides one additional mid-air jump per level.
• Floatation - Bows and crossbows. Inflicts enemies with levitation.

Gem Forge

In the early stages, the smithing table might be sufficient for enchanting. However, upon obtaining blackstone, you can take the process to the next level.

The Gem Forge allows you to melt down precious gems and infuse diamond tools and armor with their essence, creating Supra tools that surpass diamond in strength! (But not netherite). Some Supra tools contain over-leveled enchantments, and even if they don't - they just look cool, so what's not to like? (The forging sounds are amazing too, thanks for that Ludo ❤️)

If that's not enough, you can go even further... Using various precious gems, you can craft the Ultima toolset to dominate the competition! They might not be fireproof like netherite, but they all pack quite a punch!

Configuration and Compatibility

Generation

You can disable the spawning of any ore you don't want to see in the game! Additionally, you can customize the specific spawn rates for each gem category. "Common Gems" are those we've determined as less desirable than "Rare Gems". Rubies, sapphires, garnets, aquamarines, and pyrites are common, while peridots, citrines, rhodonites, and opals are rare. "Random Gems" simply generate regardless of their native biome.

Enchantments and Datapacks

Version 3 changes the enchantments that gems provide from hardcoded to flexible JSON recipes. Do you understand what this means?

The selection of enchantments each gem provides is fully customizable through datapacks! This also means gems can provide enchantments from other modifications! You can add or remove as many enchantments for each gem as you see fit!

(Additionally, blocks affected by Snowpiercer and Stonebreaker, as well as enemies receiving critical damage from Freezing, are stored in tags, so you can edit those too if you wish! Details on GitHub in the Data folder!)

Just Enough Items, Enchantment Descriptions, Neko's Enchanted Books

Although the mod has its own recipe book, Gem Forge recipes can also be quickly previewed through the Just Enough Items mod! Thanks, Swan! You can also learn what each enchantment does in-game through creative mode-exclusive enchanted books with Enchantment Descriptions installed. These books get unique sprites with Neko's Enchanted Books!
