Mob Champions

Mob Champions enriches vanilla Minecraft with the appearance of elite creature versions - mob champions. The mod fully utilizes basic game mechanics, offering customizable and challenging gameplay. Main features include a champion level system, enhanced characteristics, special effects, and rare loot acquisition. The project aims to create exciting gameplay with a reward system for experienced players seeking new challenges in Minecraft.
This is a fully configurable alternative to Champions, Mob Captains, and Infernal Mobs mods for modern game versions.
Main Features
Any allowed mob can spawn as a champion with enhanced stats and effects. All parameters can be finely tuned through configuration files. The system includes different champion levels where higher ranks possess better stats and additional abilities. Defeated champions can leave valuable items and unique gear unavailable in normal gameplay. The mod is compatible with NeoForge and Fabric.
Flexible Configuration
Configuration is available through a graphical interface or settings files. Virtually every aspect of the mod's operation can be customized to suit your needs. You can configure mob types that can become champions, their spawn conditions and frequency. For each champion rank, characteristics and effects are configured separately, including 10 scaling levels (default set to level 5). Loot tables can be edited, unique armor and weapon sets created for each rank, special enchantment and attribute chances configured for dropped items, visual effects managed for champions, and fireworks customized for defeating legendary-level mobs.
Champion Types
Mob champions represent elite versions of regular creatures that spawn with armor, weapons, and enhanced abilities. Different difficulty levels can be configured for them, where rank determines their power.
The system includes four champion levels:
- Uncommon
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary
Spawn Mechanics
The spawn probability for each champion rank is regulated by weight coefficients in settings. Spawn types can be restricted - for example, allowing only natural spawning while excluding spawners (default settings implement this to avoid disrupting automatic farm operations).
Weight balance determines rarity: regular mobs spawn with 69% probability, uncommon champions - 17.2%, rare - 10.3%, epic - 3.1%, and legendary - only 0.7%.
Champion Equipment
Champions spawn with standard or special equipment depending on their level. Gear can be configured for each rank in settings. There is an option to configure equipment dropping upon defeat: standard equipment doesn't drop by default, while special gear has a chance to be obtained by the player.
Champion Attributes
Champions have significant advantages over regular mobs:
- Increased Health: Depends on champion level
- Enhanced Armor: Accounting for creature level
- Movement Speed: Champions are faster than regular mobs
- Strong Damage: Attacks inflict more damage
- Knockback Resistance: Harder to push away in combat
- Fall Protection: Significantly less damage from falls
Special Effects
By default, legendary champions temporarily glow with a glowing effect, and their appearance is announced to nearby players. Trial chamber effects can also be activated for champions:
- Wind Charged
- Weaving
- Infested
Additionally, champions possess fire resistance, completely protecting them from fire damage.
