Elastic Modular System for Maps
“By the way, you’re not in the control group. You get the gel. The last poor soul got blue paint, broke every bone in his legs. Tragic, but informative!” — Cave Johnson
Modular Gel offers a gel mechanics system inspired by Portal 2 that can turn your Minecraft worlds into spaces for puzzles, parkour, and creative challenges. It works best in combination with Create or Immersive Portal Gun for a true portal-like experience.
The core of the mod is the gel worker’s toolbox. It gives access to three main tools: a gel placer, modifier, and mixing crucible. Each powerup requires its own ingredient. Activation isn’t limited to up-close use — the gel vent block lets you apply modifiers from a distance.
Gel Properties
Basic Gel — no effect. No reagent needed.
Bouncy Gel — propels entities upward and negates fall damage. Core component: slimeball.
Slippery Gel — increases moving speed, reduces friction. Need to use: ice block.
Sticky Gel — lowers movement speed and jump height. Base ingredient: honey bottle.
Glowing Gel — an emissive texture, radiant in darkness. Requires a glow ink sac.
Luminous Gel — emits light constantly. Catalyst: glowstone dust.
Weighted Gel — falls like soft sand. Packed with: iron ingot.
Acidic Gel — inflicts acid burn on touch. Relies on: spider eye.
Ghost Gel — phantom traversal means no collision for entities. Ingredient: ghast tear.
Resistant Gel — can no longer be tweaked with applying tools. Locked in place by cobblestone.
