Moisturization
Do you want to make farming more challenging for no particular reason? Or maybe you have valid grounds for it? Do you enjoy taking showers?
If you answered positively to at least one of these questions (or even not entirely), then this mod might be exactly what you need.
Moisturization allows you to configure the behavior of farmland near water, crop growth speed, and the effectiveness of bone meal for fertilizing plants. Additionally, the mod adds sprinklers for soil hydration.
I recommend using a resource pack similar to this one to see how much moisture remains in the soil.
By default, farmland now only gets moist when directly adjacent to a water block (including diagonal directions). Classic "village-style" farms will still function, but maintaining moisture on larger plots will require more irrigation systems. Unless you decide to use...
Sprinklers! This new redstone device waters farmland within a 5×5 block radius. When activated, it creates a refreshing water fountain that hydrates your beds (and possibly your skin!).
skin improvement not guaranteed
The mod also changes plant growth mechanics. By default, if a crop grows on dry land, it turns into a dead bush. Additionally, plants now grow 7 times slower, and bone meal only works ⅓ of the time!
HOWEVER... most of the mod's parameters are configurable!
Here's what you can change:
- Plant death without water
- Natural growth slowdown of crops
- Effectiveness of bone meal (including completely disabling this mechanic)
- Distance at which farmland absorbs water
- Soil drying rate
- Sprinkler operation range
In the future, I plan to add more features to this mod, so stay tuned for updates!
