Morph-o-Tool

Warning: For versions 1.19.2 and older, Morph-o-Tool requires AutoRegLib!

Morph-o-Tool is an addon that perfectly complements Akashic Tome. The only item it adds is the Morphing Tool, crafted using this recipe.

This unique tool can transform into any wrench, screwdriver, hammer, or magic wand made of twigs and petals that you add to it. It becomes the perfect "universal wrench" for large modpacks.

Key Features

  • To add a prototype tool, simply craft the Morphing Tool together with the desired item
  • When you look at a block from the same mod as the added tool, the Morphing Tool automatically transforms into it
  • You get the actual item from the mod, not an imitation — this guarantees 100% compatibility with all original functions
  • Special NBT data is added to the item so the game knows how to return it to its original state when you look away
  • The morphed tool can be used in crafting, but this is not recommended as you'll lose all other attached items
  • If you don't want the tool to change back, simply hold it in your off-hand — transformation only works for items in the main hand (this can be changed in settings)
  • In its original state, the tool can rotate blocks through the Forge rotation system — it works with all vanilla blocks and most modded ones
  • To remove attached items, transform the tool into the desired item, then crouch and press the drop key
  • You can also hold Shift and scroll the mouse wheel to manually switch between forms

Configuration

The mod's configuration file includes:

  • Option to allow attaching absolutely any items (disabled by default)
  • Option to make the tool transform in the off-hand instead of the main hand
  • Blacklist of mods whose items cannot be attached
  • Whitelist of item names that can be attached (e.g., wrench, screwdriver, hammer)
  • Whitelist of specific items that can also be attached even if their names don't match the previous list (e.g., Wand of the Forest from Botania)
  • Alias list allowing redirection from one mod to another. For example, RFTools adds the Smart Wrench, and the alias list contains "rftoolsdim=rftools", so when looking at a block from RFTools Dimensions (different mod) with the Smart Wrench, the tool will transform into it. Other examples include redirection from Thermal Dynamics to Thermal Expansion.
