What is Muddy's Proper Copper?
This mod, which has sparked much discussion in the community, fundamentally redistributes the functions between copper and iron, making these two resources equal in importance and application.

The mod clearly separates the areas of application for the two metals:
Iron:
- Used for active activities
- Requires constant player involvement to perform functions
Copper:
- Designed for passive activities
- Works independently without constant player intervention
- May require initial setup
The best example of this separation in the game is anvil versus lightning rod.
What specifically does the mod change?
Here is a complete list of current changes, mainly involving rearrangement of crafting recipes:
Iron changes:
- Now used to craft spyglass
- Used to make brush
Copper changes:
- Copper armor is now crafted instead of iron
- Used to create hoppers
- Used to craft compass
- Used to create village golems (formerly known as iron golems)
Even such simple changes as recipe modifications significantly impact early game mechanics and create a new unique gameplay experience.
Planned updates
- Village golems expansion - ability to empower the golem using iron, creating an interesting gameplay cycle that reflects the interaction between the two metals
- Updated copper armor textures - more stylish and unique design instead of the standard vanilla version
- New items - development of galvanic arrows that can only be used with crossbows and that reflect the interaction between copper and iron
- 1.21 version support - creative solutions for new content presented in recent snapshots
