Music Expansion - Expanding Minecraft's Musical Capabilities
A completely rewritten and updated version of my old Walkman and Custom record modifications, merged into a single project for easier maintenance and future updates.
Main Features
Walkman - a portable music disc player that you can carry with you. Holds up to 9 discs. Control via GUI or using hotkeys.
Boombox - a portable music center that other nearby players can hear. Control functionality is similar to Walkman.
Custom Records - ability to add your own musical recordings to the game through JSON files.
Record Maker - creates custom records from blank discs. Can also be configured to craft any standard records.
Custom Records Setup
On first game launch, a records.json file is created in the config/musicexpansion folder.
To allow crafting all discs through Record Maker, set the allrecords parameter to true.
Adding new records is done by including new strings in the records array:
{
"records": ["record1", "record2"]
}
Audio files must be in OGG format with mono sound (not stereo), and file names must match the strings in the array, for example: record1.ogg.
Record textures must be in PNG format with similar names: record1.png.
Localization files are placed in the same folder with the following format: "item.musicexpansionexternal.recordname.desc": "Record description here".
