Musket Mod

Game Mechanics

Right mouse button is used for loading and firing weapons. Full-sized muskets cannot be used from the offhand.

All firearms do not function underwater, and bullets lose damage when flying through liquid.

Projectiles can ignite TNT and destroy certain blocks (by default only regular glass panes).

Headshots increase damage by 30% (works against most bipedal mobs).

Main Weapons

Musket

Characteristics:
Damage: 16
Durability: 250
Available Enchantments: Knockback

Musket with Bayonet

Characteristics:
Melee Damage: 5
Available Enchantments: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods

Scoped Musket

Characteristics:
Zoom Factor: 3x
Durability: 150
Available Enchantments: Knockback

Significantly improved accuracy and reduced bullet drop. Use RMB to aim and LMB to fire.

Blunderbuss

Characteristics:
Damage: 21
Durability: 200
Available Enchantments: Flame

Fires 9 pellets with much greater spread than the musket.

Pistol

Characteristics:
Damage: 12
Durability: 200
Available Enchantments: Quick Charge

Can be used in any hand and simultaneously in both hands. Reload by holding down RMB.

Ammunition and Upgrades

Paper Cartridge

Dispensers can fire cartridges, dealing 10 damage.

Musket Upgrade Smithing Template

Required for crafting upgraded muskets. Has a high chance to spawn in strongholds and woodland mansions, and a lower chance in other overworld structures.

Mob Behavior

Pillagers and skeletons (all types) can use firearms. They may also spawn with them (20% for pillagers with pistols, 5% for skeletons with muskets).

Mobs deal 50% less damage with firearms by default.

Configuration

Settings can be accessed through the Forge/NeoForge mods menu or via Mod Menu on Fabric.

Bullet spread follows normal distribution like in real life, but configuration may be inconvenient.
