Nebula: Parasites
This modification introduces deadly parasites into the Minecraft world, whose goal is to consume all living things. Everything begins with a meteorite impact - soon after, the infection starts spreading around the crash site. Nearby creatures transform into horrifying mutated parasites.
Current Enemies
In the current version of the mod, the following types of early parasites are available:
- Protoform Medium
- Protoform Small - appears when baby creatures transform or those with health not exceeding 10 units
- Infected Cow
- Infected Pig
- Infected Sheep
- Infected Zombie
- Simulated Player - test model (future versions plan to use real player skins)
Infection Mechanics
The game features an infection system that takes into account the infection effect level - the higher the level, the greater the chance of transforming into a parasite. The infection spreads through special risk zones such as colonies and meteorite impact sites.
Airborne transmission system: when a parasite is near an uninfected creature, there is a chance of infection without direct contact.
Safe zone system: special Purge Fields prevent infection of creatures within their radius (excluding direct parasite attacks).
From the very beginning of the game, there is a possibility of a meteor shower (only in the Overworld). After this event, three meteorite impact sites appear in the world, and within a small radius around each, creatures begin to become infected with the parasitic infection.
Evolution Stages
Parasites go through 9 development stages:
-2: Parasites do not exist in the world.
-1: Parasites can exist and spawn naturally, but only in places without sunlight.
0-4: Stages when parasites receive a huge evolution bonus (meteorite impact, available only in the Overworld) and begin to take over the world.
5-6: Stages when parasites can spawn naturally at any time of day.
Spawn Features
A special spawn system creates different sets of parasites for each world, making travel to other dimensions more unpredictable. When a certain number of parasite points is reached, they will start spawning naturally, with difficulty gradually increasing. Mob lists can be customized in the configuration file.

- Adding parasitic versions of all standard Minecraft mobs
- Creating advanced custom mobs that arise from the merging of weaker parasites
- Introducing parasites from other planets and solar systems
- Ensuring compatibility with other mods (parasitic versions for mobs from other mods)
- Planning to add parasites similar to Necromorphs from the Dead Space series, along with their abilities and locations (Nebula: Necromorphs)
- Creating a city generator that can be customized using configuration and structure files (Nebula: City)
- Developing a separate mod focused on technology and industrial revolution (Nebula: Tech)
- Creating a mod allowing interplanetary travel and visiting various planets infected by parasites (Nebula: Space)
This mod is in early development. It can be customized through configuration files to better suit your playstyle. Feel free to add it to your modpacks!
